In this movie Hannah Montana discovers that her roots in Tennessee are not so bad after all, even though she loves her life in Los Angeles.
Miley Cyrus stars in the popular Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, and in this film she rediscovers her roots and her dreams. Miley Stewart (Cyrus) is a famous pop star. However she is known by her stage persona as Hannah Montana, a character made up so she would be able to live a normal life as a normal teenager. When she is not performing, she is a typical teenage girl. When she dons her blonde wig and sparkling clothes, she is Hannah Montana. That way she can have the best of both worlds. The press doesn’t hound her because they do not know her. And she can still live her dream as a singer. Simple Tennessee Meets Flashy HollywoodWhen the down-home Tennessee gal starts to get a little full of herself and starts to go Hollywood, her father Robbie Ray (Billy Ray Cyrus) decides to nip this in the bud. He doesn’t like the fact that his daughter is putting her career ahead of her family and values. So, instead of going to New York for an awards ceremony, Robbie Ray takes her back home to Crowley Corners, Tennessee where she can get a good dose of old-fashioned values and spend time with family and old friends. While she was being a little too Hollywood and ruined her best friend’ Lilly’s birthday party, Lilly was so upset by the actions of her friend that she accidentally spilled the fact that “Hannah” is from Crowley Corners when she was talking to a reporter. This reporter, Oswald (Peter Gunn) then sets off to Crowley Corners in search of some dirt on the pop star. Miley is at first upset being back home. She has come to love her life in Los Angeles. But little by little she gains the values back that she lost. Instead of thinking of her friends and family in Tennessee as hillbillies, she reconnects with them and once again becomes part of the community. Romance is in the Tennessee AirMiley also finds love, but instead of being wooed by a Hollywood celeb, she is being wooed by her very old friend who is now working on her grandmother’s ranch. And that’s not the only romance budding in Tennessee. Robbie Ray also finds some old-fashioned lovin’. When push comes to shove, Miley realizes that perhaps her days as Hannah Montana are over. She is tired of pretending to everyone. But if she reveals her true identity, her dreams will be over. She’ll no longer be able to live a normal life and also have a big singing career. Her neighbors and friends are the ones who will ultimately make the decision for her. This is a show for fans of the TV series, yet viewers do not have to be avid watchers of the series to know what’s going on. There is plenty of music and a lot of Hannah Montana/Miley Stewart/Miley Cyrus in this movie.
