Between holiday romances, war movies, love stories and pets, there's something in the theatres for everybody this holiday season.

Four Christmases

Release Date: November 26

Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon play Kate and Brad, a dating couple who usually go out of town for the holidays. Airport delays force the couple to spend Christmas Day with each of their divorced parents.

As in any Vince Vaughn movie, hilarity ensues with brothers wrestling him to the ground and a baby throwing up on Witherspoon which activates Vaughn’s gag reflex. But by the end of the day, Witherspoon’s character is starting to have doubts about the couples’ future. Director Seth Gordon tells Us Weekly, Vaughn and Witherspoon’s “chemistry is so good you want them to make it through this day.”

Marley & Me

This Jennifer Aniston/Owen Wilson movie is based on the New York Times Best Seller by journalist Josh Grogan. The movie follows the life of the Grogan’s during the 13-year lifespan of their yellow Labrador retriever Marley.

Aniston and Wilson play Grogan and his wife in this comedy set to be released Christmas day.

Valkyrie

Release Date: December 26

Tom Cruise plays German officer Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg in this war movie based on factual events. At the height of World War II, a group of men, including Cruise’s character complete with an eye patch, plan to assassinate Adolf Hitler: Operation Valkyrie. When things go wrong, von Stauffenberg must create the shadow government that will replace the Nazi party but must kill Hitler himself.

Filming of the movie was done in Germany and was met with much resistance from the German government. The controversy wasn’t over the heavy Nazi-themed movie being filmed in Germany; the government was wary of Cruise and his strong ties to what the German government believes to be a cult-based religion of Scientology
