From Warner Brothers Studios and new director Sanaa Hamri, comes this much anticipated movie.
This summer, the girls find themselves heading off to college - and find that, while keeping in touch is hard to do - with friends like theirs, it's worth it.
Characters
Lena, played by Gilmore Girls' Alexis Bledel, spent the summer of the last movie in Greece with her grandparents. While there, she fell in love with the "good Greek boy" of her dreams - Kostas.
Carmen, played by Ugly Betty's America Ferrara, spent the summer of the last movie visiting her dad, only to find out her dad had an unfortunate surprise for her - he was getting remarried and she was getting two step-siblings.
Bridget, played by Gossip Girl's Blake Lively, spent the summer of the last movie at soccer camp where she showed off her soccer skills, fell in love with an older soccer coach, and learned a tough lesson in limits and humility.
Tibby, played by Joan of Arcadia's Amber Tambyln, spent the summer of the last movie in the most unlikely of enjoyable places - working at the local market. She expected to have an eventless summer, but it was here that she met Bailey, the young girl who would change Tibby's life forever.
Set to be released August 6, 2008, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 is sure to be one of the big box office hits of the summer. With it's large fan base and star-studded cast, most are expecting the film to greatly succeed.
Much of the success of the first film was due, in part, to its supporting cast, including West Wing's Bradley Whitford, and Nancy Travis of Becker and The Bill Engvall Show. This second movie will not disappoint in the area of supporting actors, as Michael Redy returns in the role of "Kostas" and acclaimed film actress (and mother of Gwenyth Paltrow) Blythe Danner also adds her skills.
About the Author
Ann Brashares grew up in Maryland (though she was born in Virginia and attended elementary school in Washington, D.C.), and graduated from Barnard College with a degree in Philosophy. Brashares went on to work for Alloy Entertainment until publishing her first work of fiction in 2001, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, followed by the remaining three books in the series. In 2007, Brashares published her first work of adult fiction, entitled The Last Summer (Of You and Me).
