Whether it's scary or romantic, these are the hot flicks to see this Valentine's Day.
Want to woo a date into a laughing good mood? Take her to a comedy and laugh into the evening about the movie you just enjoyed. COMEDYPink Panther 2- Starring Steve Martin Inspector Jacques Clouseau is at it again in the second installment of the Pink Panther series. Hilarity and hijinks ensue when Inspector Clouseau is teamed up with international detectives, much like himself, to stop an artifacts thief that has stolen the Pink Panther diamond. New in Town- Starring Renee Zellweger and Harry Connick, Jr. Zellweger plays main character Lucy Hill; a corporate Miami-based go-getter who’s quickly running up the ladder in the business world. She takes the chance to show her boss she’s integral to the company by offering to restructure a manufacturing plant in small-town Minnesota. However, she is greeted with frigid temperatures and an even colder welcome from the locals. She must maneuver icy roads, snow and contempt from those around her to show she’s in control. Connick, Jr.’s character develops into a love interest and helps her navigate her surroundings. A wrench gets thrown into her plan when bad news comes from corporate and she must make a decision that will change everything. HORRORAnother type of movie good for date night is horror flicks. Don’t know how to go about putting an arm around the girl? Take her to a scary movie and “protect” her or grab her hand when something alarming happens. Taken- Starring Liam Neeson and Maggie Grace Liam Neeson plays ex-CIA agent Bryan Mills. His daughter Kim (Grace) is in Paris with a friend to follow U2’s European tour. Kim calls her father to let him know they arrived in Paris safely but while on the phone, she witnesses her friend get abducted from the hotel room. She tells her father and he instructs her to hide but shout what she can about the abductors. He continues, “you will be taken.” Neeson’s character briefly talks to a kidnapper and tells him, “If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you.” Friday the 13th- Starring Jared Padalecki and Derek Mears In the newest installment of Friday the 13th, Jason Voorhees (Mears) is back at it in what the writers are calling a “reboot” of the original. All the same characteristics are there; Jason in a hockey mask, good-looking teenagers running for their lives and going places they shouldn’t, impalement, blood, sex, and minor nude scenes. The writers have gone to great lengths to keep viewers guessing as who will die and in what order. It should be a slashing good time!
